And then the actual Christmas starts right after Halloween.

Ugh.

It's just annoying (and it's EVERYWHERE) and obnoxious.  Just about making money.

It's every year so there is nothing you can do about it.  I am finished with buying Christmas decos.  In fact, I have cut down a little by donating and giving away but I still have plenty decos to decorate.  The only thing I would possibly buy are the battery operated candles for the windows but tha is it.  I had the plug in type but I bought those at Walgreens.  HeartCat Tongue

@LOVEMYFURBABY

X is Ancient Greek for Christ, the symbol of.  Xmas is Christ mass or Christmas.

It was also used as a symbol for followers in the first century.

A history of theology, you might want to research it online where there is a lot of theological history.

Back in the day when the Q presented Christmas items that were quality, like Thomas Picone(sp) and items that were worth collecting, I didn't mind it so much and bought a few things.  Now, not at all.  The stuff IMHO is so junky that many items don't even make to my doorstep in one piece.

I bought a VPH spray of white berries and when I took it out of the box, half the berries had fallen off the vine.... come on!

So I really don't even watch.  I love July... picnics, red, white & blue, barbeques, fireworks, swimming and we have a major parade here that DH and oldest son will be participating in.... fun!  Woman LOL

@Nataliesgramma- I hate that flash pad and all of the other toys you mentioned.  The hosts acting like they love playing with that pad!  Today, children start young with iPads and games.  Luckily, I have no small children to buy for but I think they would be bored to death.  I liked when they had the book selections for children.  I don't watch CIJ but I love Christmas and look forward to the season.  Commercialism almost makes you sick of Christmas before it arrives....

When I was younger, I loved anything Christmas in July.  For a few years, I even had a luncheon on July 25th at my house.  I think the older we get, the faster time goes by, and we want to enjoy each day.  I know I don't want to rush the seasons.  I love all of them, and I want to enjoy them as they come.  Summer, my favorite, is short enough.  I cringe when I think certain hosts will start mentioning leather boots on July 4th.  Smiley Indifferent

We always did CIJ full blast when my kids were little. Turkey dinner, old Christmas sitcoms on TV, one day change of pace in the summer. Sweet memories.

I totally agre with Q4U. I used to really look forward to CIJ and the Christmas Time shows. The quality has gone down so much. Your right, most of the items arrive broken or are very cheap. I really have enough, so probably won't be watching either. Even out and about in the stores and craft shows, there used to be beautiful unique Christmas items. You just don't see it any more.
