Wrongful death suit...really?

Disappointed that Vanessa Bryant has filed a wrongful death suit against the owner of the helicopter that crashed and killed her husband and daughter among others.

Blaming the pilot. Ok...pilot has the final word fly or don't fly. So why not sue him?

Oh yeah...he's dead.

Although the pilot was certified to fly in fog, the company he worked for was not. Why would they allow him to fly that day? Don’t know how that works but I would think it’s their fault. Not surprised in your thinking.

The pilot was named in the lawsuit.

This lawsuit shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody

Re: Wrongful death suit...really?

I read an article a few weeks ago that the company had already shut down.

I am going to assume that it's her anger and grief speaking, and perhaps she will let it go.

Considering he was counseled by the FAA for an incident that occurred in 2015, I can understand why Mrs. Bryant is doing so. Death has nothing to do with why or why not he should be sued.

Oh, and she's also suing the owners of the helicopter who are NOT dead.

She's probably still in the anger stage of grieving.  Just speculation of course.

@roxxy1  I smell lawyers who smell money and are taking advantage of her in her grief.

They don’t need the money. It’s a matter of accountability.

I thought the same thing.  It's not like money means anything to her family and I'm sure the pilot's family has better things to be dealing with financially and otherwise.

All this frivolousness makes lawyers rich and a grieving family even more stressed.  I hope it gets tossed quickly and she deals with her anger more appropriately.  The person deserving of it suffered the ultimate consequence.  Not his family's fault or expense to pay.

@Sushismom   Yes, THAT is who she is suing. Not the pilot, the way I heard it. So why the owners?  It was pilot error, wasn't it?
