Re: Wrapped presents or in gift bag?

I do both, but more wrapped. I have a HUGE amount of gift bags. When we got them, I kept them but never reused them. Then I bought a bunch on a close out sale. I have no explanation why I do the things I do. One of my character flaws I guess.

@Puppy Lips

My could be flaw is buying two of just about everything. Having a backup is reassuring.

i went through a period of picking up a gift bag or two, plus tissue, when I went to the dollar stores.

I just realized that I've got many bags, and somehow, a dwindling supply of tissue.

That's the weirdest thing.

I've used (un-inked) newspaper, plain brown wrapping paper...and even lunch bags that I have hand-decorated with felt pens or even paint...

I did brown paper and the comics section for birthdays for my sons and their friends.

I like to use both. Anything that is an odd shape I will use a gift bag with lots of tissue. But most everything else gets wrapped especially the stuff for the kids. I think it makes it more fun for them to open!

In a jam and short on wrapping paper one Christmas Eve, my mother got out the long roll of ALUMINUM FOIL to wrap a few small presents with.

Worked very well.

@Tinkrbl44@Desertdi ,

Tinfoil! Now that's interesting! Actually I bet it looked very sparkly!Woman Very Happy

I used left over wallpaper too!

Very pretty but hard to wrap!

Re: Wrapped presents or in gift bag?

I prefer to put gifts in a gift bag - just pop them in and done!  However, I have been wrapping them --- even though I have no skills at wrapping and admit that I do them as quickly as possible!  When I give gifts to people outside the family I do put them in gift bags - much more polished looking.  I love unwrapping presents myself --- more fun!
