Ford, I wish you luck in this situation.

From my experience when someone is combative and refuses to stop irrational hammering all hours of the day, they are usually nutso. I dealt with it years ago and the only one who can really help you is the building management.

It is very difficult to evict someone if they pay their rent and it can take quite a long time. We had a real crazy above us who hammered day and night and it ended up we moved instead of this nut who caused all the trouble. She was carted away by the police just before we moved. I heard later, she was arrested for drugs but lo and behold years later she is still living there probably driving her other neighbors crazy.

I hope you have a better management team than we did. Good luck! Keep us posted how things are going. I really sympathize because when I lived in an apartment it was very difficult dealing with this woman.

Hi, SR! This building is partially funded by the government just for seniors 62 and over. If she becomes a real menace, I don't think there will be a problem getting her out. I am hoping it will all blow over . . . while also hoping I don't have to run into her very often. Right next door is uncomfortably close! Then again I leave this apartment only with one of my daughters, never alone.

Ford, it sounds like you will be able to get the support you need from management then. I wonder if she has dementia? Whatever the case may be, you are entitled to a safe, quiet home and hopefully this will get resolved quickly!

I was thinking of you on Christmas and hope you had a wonderful day with your family.{#emotions_dlg.wub}

We did, but very quiet. My daughter who hosted it was exhausted, and one of my other daughters is very ill (I talk about it in Health and Wellness). We also agreed not to spend a lot of money this year (not that the kids did not get plenty).

I hope you had a wonderful holiday as well. I'm glad to have all the hubbub over with though. We have three birthdays coming up in January, two in February, three in March, not to mention Valentine's Day and Easter. Egad! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

Yes, Ford, I read about your daughter's illness. I hope the New Year brings her better health and that someone can successfully treat her so that she has better days ahead.

We had a nice Christmas and I was grateful because like yourself I had a "good" day health wise.

Ha ha ha . . . that was funny! And yes, so far no hammering today. If she goes more than a day or two, perhaps it is over. Maybe the Manager did not like her letter and really threatened her. Or maybe the complainer(s) let the Manager know she was still at it and the Manager took action. Time will tell.

Thank you. Soft.... You and yours have a very happy and prosperous New Year!

You reckon Ford saw my suggestion? I'd put some on that lady's shelf in the middle of the night and tie a bow on it.

Re: Would you complain about this?

This reminds me of one of the detective shows I saw recently. Can't remember which one it was but this woman got really wild before it was over. She was really mixed up in the head and became truly dangerous.
