Re: Words/Phrases You Don’t Want to Hear Anymore in 2022

When commentators aren't unpacking the story, they're drilling down on it. Therefore, add drilling down to the list.

Elevate, take to the next level, play with your clothes, have fun with your clothes, they're flying out of here, there should be a one in front of that price.

"Reach out"

" I'd love me some......"

and another vote for "no problem" instead of you're welcome.

Re: Words/Phrases You Don’t Want to Hear Anymore in 2022

In addition to @Bridgegal, your "love me some",

I'll add-"I aint gonna" (or anything similar).

and "I don't know no..."

Anytime someone uses slang like this thinking its cute or whatever.

I realize some areas and dialects it is something normally used and not a purposeful affectation like those thinking they are clever or cute or trying to sound so downhome or something.

And I've wanted to add

"not living in fear"

"free state"

"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew. Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"

"You can't fix stupid".  Overused, unoriginal, and lends nothing to a discussion.

"Wheelhouse".  Seems everyone has one now.

"It's complicated".  Why?  Just present the facts without the drama.

I hate the word "meme" .   It's just an image that you can copy. Why not just say that?

@febe1

YES! YES!

Also: "Permission to play.." I truly do not like that one!

And, "meeting people where they are," which sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me.

One more - using the Bible as a way to SELL anything. In a TSV presentation of 2 Prive Reveaux READERS, Allie Carr made the statement that she needed the readers because she wants to "read the entire Bible in 2022."

The Good Book is not a way to sell product! It doesn't make you a better person in our eyes if you read the Bible and it most certainly is not going to get us to buy two pairs of readers. Stop invoking God as a sales pitch please!

"I refuse to live in fear." Well good! Honey, who asked you to live in fear? No one. You're fighting imaginary dragons. But have fun with that.

"My body my choice," when used as a 'zinger' by people who are only trying to argue against public health initiatives. I know you don't really mean that across the board. You are simply trying to 'trigger' people you dislike, for no reason other than to be unpleasant.

Both are transparent and pointless.

When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.
