Re: Woman goes 5 years without shampoo

The No Poo Movement is HUGE! I've researched it & it makes so much sense....and really feeds into my no-chemical, simplistic frame of mind. It's definitely an American habit to wash hair once or twice a day. I can go 1-2x a week using watered down shampoo, but have yet to flip over to apple-cider/lemon juice wash. I've got thick, manageable hair anyway, so the process is pretty easy.

What tickles me is....there was a thread today about WEN oils...how the WEN ladies are so misunderstood how everyone tells them they are crazy to put oil on their head. But those gals are looking @ the No Poo ladies with disapproval! See the irony?

I'm a WEN gal have been for years.........but I quit using shampoo for the same reason the No-poo gals quit..........I don't really care what someone uses or doesn't use.........if it works for them, then it's all good.................................raven

ps, lemon and apple cider rinses are great for your hair

I would think not washing one's hair for five years would be unhygienic.

I remember reading that Jessica Simpson washed her hair only every two weeks. That even creeped me out but 5 years? Oh, Jessica also said she did not brush her teeth every day but she did not have bad breath.

Huh????!!! Brushing your teeth everyday doesn't take very long, why in world wouldn't you? I'll skip a day or so with the hair but the teeth...NEVAH.

Re: Woman goes 5 years without shampoo

Tons of girls on youtube stopped washing thier hair with shampoo. They use baking soda and vinegar as a rinse.Ans their hair looks great. So some of you shouldn't knock it.AT least this girl wasn't walking around with short curly poodle blue looking hair.

She doesn't use baking soda or vinegar. While I wouldn't use it, at least it is something to cleanse the hair. She just rinses with water twice a week.
