It is currently 5 degrees with a -14 wind chill...much more like our normal weather. Tonight will be -8 with -30 winds and tomorrow will be 2 degrees for a high.

Folks who go to the Vikings game will definitely need their faces covered. Being stuck in a seat and not being able to move around in these temps is not the best scenario.

@Carriestp - yes, the wind chills expected here will be close to that - I felt my inside door knob awhile ago and boy you can feel the temps have really dropped!  You wouldn't find me at that game!

Re: Winter will arrive tonite!

I'm in NW Indiana.  Our county sheriff made a robo call this morning, warning everyone of what was to come and that there was a severe winter weather advisory for overnight.  We've had a ton of unseasonable rain off and on since around Thanksgiving.  Christmas was very weird, snowless.  With the advisory, we were told to expect the rain to change to snow with ice in the mix.  Roads would turn bad and it was recommended not to travel if you didn't have to.  If you did, be cautious and drive slowly.  Late this afternoon, the forcast was ammended.  It's currently about 40°, but will get colder from here on out.  Now we're only expecting about half the snow that was orignally predicted, at 1-3", but temps we get pretty low and the windchill will have it feeling like several degrees below zero.  It's kinda funny, the minute there's a bad storm warning everyone goes to the store for provisions...LOL.  I have to admit, I was planning a trip to the local grocery today for a few things anyway, but I did pick up an extra loaf of bread, eggs, and milk.  It's just what people do.  DH brought extra firewood up, too, so we're ready.

Everyone be safe!
