With deference to @bargainsgirl, it was a Gregory Maguire novel first.

Some movies, some books, some plays or musicals have the ability to, for whatever reason, resonate with many creating what becomes cult classics. That's Wicked.

I admit I'm a little surprised HSN doesn't have any Wicked products. The movie is ripe for a Heidi Daus tie-in.

I'm thinking back to to Star Wars with the action figures, space ships and Princess Leia dolls as well as E.T. dolls. I do no get the outrage over the Wicked paraphernalia.

Outrage is a bit strong.  I am simply baffled.  Guess I am getting too old for all this stuff. More important things to think about at my age.

The hoopla and new products from Harry Potter is still going strong two decades laters.

The merchandise for Wicked is no different than other potential blockbusters, especially when they have a pre-holiday release.

@Etoile308 I loved the Harry Potter craze. As the movies came out I started purchasing the books which I still have.

@Franklinbell - I never thought about that! DD's college sorority colors were the same. That makes my gifts for her even more special!  Smiley Happy
