And I've been here for years and accidentally inserted a spoiler box and not known how to get rid of it.

I think it's because it's a yellow circle and it looks like a smiley emoticon.

It's no big deal.  People who have been around these boards for a long time know how to ignore it, when it's used accidentally.  Many have done it!

Oh and, as to the original subject - too funny!  I'm sure someone at Mattel is very red-faced right now.
