Re: Essential School Supply Change

Those were the days. I could make it to recess or lunch without needing to use a bathroom. To have a strong bladder again.

@Kachina624

I also remember being able to ask someone if they wanted to play and not have mommy arrange play dates.

I even took a city bus (yeah...public transportation) to get to my grammar school...

We also had recess on scalding hot and dangerous metal playground equipment; tall slides with no one standing around us to catch us if we fell...but we managed to survive. If we scraped a knee or elbow, no one was there to kiss our boo-boo, so we shook it off and went back for another round on the swings....it's amazing any of us are still here.

Look what a mass of wreckage Boomers turned out to be.

When we know better, we do better, thankfully.

Yes, I remember that we didn't have any of those things.  We also brought our lunch or bought lunch at the school cafeteria.

We didn't use backpacks either.

I remember when no pants were allowed on girls. I wore a skirt or dress and panty hose or socks every day, I do remember it was 1969 when we were allowed to wear jeans and pants.
