I started here to get info on Linea. I discovered the Book Club where I get great info on books to read. There used to be a lot of posters on Recipes with fabulous dishes but since the change over many of those have unfortunately disappeared. I enjoy the Garden forum and have learned many new things there. I enjoy reading the different opinions on events in Community Chat. I just skim through - I skip all the long posts.

A little of everything. I like to read the opinions of others, and express my own if I feel motivated. I like to be helpful if someone asks about a condition, situation or item I have experience with. I sometimes have a question about something I’m thinking of purchasing.
I don’t post to convince people I’m right or I win; after I‘ve expressed an opinion it doesn’t matter to me if others share it. I’m not a cultish, faddish “converter” or latest craze kind of person.
If the title of a thread or the Original Post indicates I will not enjoy it by virtue of subject matter or author I just skip it. I tend to avoid “unreadable” (to me) posts that are full of spelling and grammar errors, wall-o-words, no paragraphs, etc. The length of a post is unimportant to me if it’s readable and intelligent. I generally tend to find that longer posts vs very short ones demonstrate more thought put into them.
Sad threads/posts are easily avoided if/when I choose to avoid them, as are cat-fights.

I enjoy reading other's opinions even if I have nothing to add or everything's been said.
I guess most of all, I find it relaxing and enjoyable time spent.

I find great resources re you tube videos, products, movies, books all kinds of issues.
Many posters are incredibly generous with their time and commitment. It makes me feel good.
It also provides more human connection- since I am retired and home bound much of the time due to health
issues.

I like to hear what other women have to say about products. I love seeing how they decorate, so I can get some new and fresh ideas. And maybe lend an ear when someone needs it, usually hearting them or writing a small something. And definately hearing and seeing the fur babies.

I come for exchanging ideas and learning new things. What I don't like is the self flagellation by an OP who can't stop herself. Mods definitely need to remove threads like that...any which is brought forward from last year for the sole purpose by the OP to rehash her misery. No, I don't come here for that and I doubt many others do either.

It is lonely here. Want to know what people are doing and thinking.

@Stray Well said.
@Stray wrote:Once in a while, I like to see product reviews but I really have my own views about what I wear but might have a question about color or how something fits, runnng large or small, how it looks on a petite frame etc. I started reading the forum after I retired when I couldn't sleep at night.
At first, I enjoyed learning different viewpoints about controversial topics. I felt we may be the same demographic or similar but different parts of the Country. But, I learned how intolerant and nasty some can be when views are different than their own. However, I also found how supportive and sweet many posters are when they encounter difficult & painful situations other posters may face.
I enjoy the posts like "songs/movies that make you cry" childhood memories etc. I also like the book club because I've found many new authors and learned what a cozy mystery is. TV/movies I enjoy discussing plots of my favorite TV shows.
The one time I was the original poster, I sincerely was interested about thoughts re how/what kids are taught in Ivyleague schools....well, that turned ugly and one poster had to "leave the Board" because I insulted her school, her relative who worked there etc when I was only quoting a newspaper article which was in general. I never posted again only in response to others....some are really overly sensitive and as said, intolerant

Sounds like we are all pretty much alike. I get my coffee in the morning and sit at the computer reading the forums is how I start my day. I am retired and pick up useful information or ideas some days.
