     @151949,

I am so saddened to read this. I never knew.

"In fact, I just posted you about your loss- LOVE OF LIFE, through death. I had no idea of the nature".

CNN is great in bringing in the survivors of any death, a tragic incident.

People either want to hear this or have an insanely appetite for the most gory of events, personally.

The only answer I would surmise is ___'these on camera realistic happenings, with the survivors brings in high rating'__!

Re: Why do they do this?

[ Edited ]

Just ANOTHER reason that I don't watch CNN.  Whenever a "news" channel shoves a microphone in the face of someone who is going through a horrific experience, it only shows me that they don't care about anything except for their ratings.

BINGO

The media gives us what we want.

Look at all the "reality" TV programs and the detective shows that re-create crimes & interview victims & family of victiims.

Easy to blame the media

I don't think I would do it, or could do it. I would be crying so hard, no one could understand anything I was saying anyway.

Never having been in that situation, I can't even beging to imagine how I would be if I lost a loved one, and the news was wanting a story.

I wouldn't know how I would be, until it were to happen.

Another bingo @software. If viewers didn't watch media wouldn't show it. Very easy to blame evil ol media instead of the people who tune in and drive what's presented.

Those reporters can be vultures. They only care about getting a good story. Most of them don't care about a person's feelings.

If your child, or another loved one, was killed by a shooter, would you go on TV only to be asked how you feel about it?  They're doing it right now on CNN with parents of the boy who died at school.  A man came to kill his ex-wife and then shoot himself.  He also shot two students, one of whom died.

I muted it.  What purpose is it, other than to exploit or sensationalize?  This was not a terrorist attack, this was a domestic issue.

I would never go public if something like that happened to my loved one, in this case, my child.

Would you?

           WOULD I?        ******Absolutely 'NOT'******

@sissy2 Tree, you have to remember, not {{{every one}}} on `any forum`- here,  has or ever had a child or children! I can read with their their postings,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!

"I can scan people just that quickly" ~~~ ..!

There SHOULD BE  NO sensationalism by exploiting any parent or guardian to the torture or brutal mental distress, discussing something as horrific, as losing a child. To murder or attack, be that domestic or terrorist.

Why do some parents come on IMMEDIATELY, I have absolutely no ________________vague_________________... idea!

I can somewhat give some account, though,  if THE on camera interview(s) had happened many years ago, and that parent /parents can feel as though it can or helps the survivor 'AS' a TRYING to REMIND,  possibly help someone else, then that is their cross to bear.

In my opinion, and I think very carefully before coming on the COMMUNITY jargon, there COULD be no closure..NEVER.. for me.
