@Bonkers1

It might not be about that at all.  Being a host with a 24/7 online retail company comes with horrific, and often changing, hours.

I would think at least some leave due to burnout, not maybe grass is greener somewhere else.

JMO, of course.

I saw on Social Media that Jen Coffey and her hubby purchased a Studio Apartment since she said they both would still be spending lots of time in Philadelphia, while their main home is in Georgia.

She said it makes sense and is far more comfortable than a hotel.

Does anyone else find it odd that so many previous program hosts have come back to QVC to represent a product? It doesn't convince me to buy the product just because they are now the new ambassador for that brand.

The short answer is "for money" and the long answer is, too, I'm sure. I think it also depends on the host in question, and the reason they left.  All of the comments here may be applicable to any one of them. Perhaps they left to spend more time with family and hoped they would have a successful business on their own, then learned, the hard way that being a small business owner is hard and doesn't pay as well as they'd hoped. Or maybe some of them were laid-off, like Dan and Carolyn.

I think the skillset of a QVC host is limiting and tough to transfer into other positions or professions without a drastic increase in hours and a substantial decrease in salary. What other company pays what QVC pays and allows you to work 4 hour shifts at all hours of the day, give or take a few hours for prep time? Most corporations are 9-5, plus salaried employees often work way beyond their 8 hours a day and don't get paid extra to do so.

If you work in retail, health care, catering/restaurant or many other areas, you also have to cover those 8+ hour shifts on weekends.  Yes, the hosts do that too, but with a base salary of $150,000 (according to a recent job posting), and fewer hours.

The most recent hosts to return, after a VERY short hiatus, were Jen and Kerstin. Jen was given a huge, dramatic go-away party and had plans to open a yoga studio that fell through because her new husband was hired by a corporation in Georgia. Yet, Jen is still living, at least part of the time in PA.

Kerstin left to spend more time with her kids and had dreams of becoming a successful podcaster and influencer. It seems if you look at both of these women that their post QVC careers are not as successful as they had hoped, hence the need to supplement as brand ambassadors.

There is no shame in that, however, I personally wouldn't trust Kerstin to sell me anything, and her representation of a brand makes me even less apt to purchase it. Just last week, she was VERY disrespectful of Peter Thomas Roth while promoting Kim Gravel's beauty line on her livestream. I'm not sure how she's even allowed in the QVC building after THAT display! And yesterday, let's just say she promoted a certain political figure and offended many of her followers. It takes good judgment and wisdom to be successful, and she seems too much of a loose cannon.

@PalmBeach They miss the "camera time"?  They miss/need the money?  Who cares.  Salesmen are salesmen no matter how they do it.

Yesterday, when I was checking out the schedule for the jewelry shows on HSN, saw Libby Floyd's name.  Always liked her as a host on the old Shop At Home channel and later Shop NBC.  Tuned in and the guest presenter was a brunette lady.  Must've been a mistake.
