Re: Why It Takes So Long To Learn About Data Breaches

....and I thought this could be a helpful discussion. The dog with a bone never quits.

{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}How about a non-biased, non-conservative source, Dagna ?

Issa and his staff couldn't uncover any breach and anything this guy says is only talking points for conspiracy theorists.

I used that cite because it specified some of the info available. Since Terrier insists there is no "sensitive" data, I'm sure if I had mentioned SSN, income, birthday address etc. (certainly enough for identity theft) on my own, I'd have been called a liar again.

You can google and see CBS and other cites you'd probably consider more acceptable reporting the security problems.

So are you claiming that this information is not on the site - and apparently available to hackers?

With 110 million people affected by the Target breach you'd think the Oversight guys would want to get answers for their constituents, wouldn't you ?

I shopped at Target, used my Red Card, and got a new bank card and cut the target card up.

I haven't gotten an email from Target with any apology, only emails with their deals and ads.

What has been the experience of other Target shoppers here ?

Using your logic, since nothing has happened to you - what's the problem?

I am equally concerned that I don't hear about salmonella or listeria in my salad or e-coli in my ground beef till weeks after I was ill or died from eating it. This new crisis again tells me that we little insignificant bugs = aka the public, don't matter so much to corporations. Who, by the way would shrivel and die without us.

You do have to submit proof of income to apply. You can complete your application, get your subsidy if you qualify, enroll with a health insurance plan but you will still need to submit proof of income or the application, and thus your insurance, will be cancelled.
