Re: Why Is Traveling All Day Tiring?

Bus trips are extremely tiring. I don't have a car so on days off if I need to run errands I'll take the local bus, it's only $1 up and $1 back. By the time I get home, I'm exhausted. However it does beat paying for gas and trying to find parking, and I'm glad I have the service.

@panda1234   I agree.  When my DH had cancer I don't know how many hours I spent sitting in hospitals rooms and waiting rooms.

The day of his surgery we had to have him at the hospital at 6:30 am. The hospital was an hour drive away.  The surgery ended up being 8 hours alone. We finally got to see him for a couple minutes at 8:30 that night and then drove an hour home.

The stress alone and the long day was indeed exhausting mentally and physically.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 that is exactly what I am talking about. I hope your DH has recovered.

Why is traveling all day tiring?

I've wondered about this myself.  No matter the mode of transportation--car, bus, train, plane, etc.--all you do is sit, move around occasionally.  Yet at the end of a travel day, one is tired.

Re: Why Is Traveling All Day Tiring?

@panda1234   My DH survived the cancer after successful treatments and surgery. He was doing great.

Four years after his cancer he had a small brain bleed.  He was expected to recover however he developed a blocked intestine and when he threw up he aspirated it.

He was on a ventilator for 24 hrs., developed pneumonia, sepsis etc.  He sadly passed away three years ago.

Re: Why Is Traveling All Day Tiring?

@panda1234  Thank you.  He was a good man, I never in a million years thought he wouldn't be coming home when we walked in the hospital.

The part that is hard is he survived 2 kinds of cancer, he had colorectal and prostare. It hadn't spread, two different types. His urologist said he had only 2 other patients like that.  He had 2 heart attacks in 2000.  The mild one put him in the hospital and just before they started his catheterization he had a bad one in front of the cardiac team. Had he not been where he was he would have died.

He died cancer free and his heart fine.  As they say, no one said life is fair.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 Wow what an amazing man with an amazing story. I bet the doctors were just shaking their heads. When it is our time, it is our time and nothing can change that. God bless you, you are a strong woman.
