@gidgetgh THe more light I have in the day the more I accomplish and the better I feel.  These short dark days just make me want to curl up and mope.

I can get groceries just fine at 6 p.m. but when it's dark at 5 p.m., yeah not so much.  Gotta get it done at noon it seems.  Rush rush.  And what's to love about being in the house in the dark for hours and hours?

now i am just the opposite of this.....

i get way more done in the darker hours.

it is more quiet, peaceful, and less hectic.

i dont feel rushed to get things done or to deal with traffic or to be interrupted.

everyone is in their own little world doing their evening activities.

i also like that it costs me less to run my appliances during this time of the year.

i also like to howl at the moon. LOL

i am definitely all for standard time year round.

@sunshine45 I am a night owl and love to stay up past midnight.  But I need all the daylight I can get during the daytime for my chores, trips, and mental health--I love the sun.  And I don't like to be out at night now in today's world.

Bottom line, about 6 hours of sleep is fine for me--maybe 7 on occasion.  But give me all the light I can get!!!

That's kind of ironic given your nickname! 😄

Re: Why I hate Daylight Savings time

I prefer Daylight Savings Time. Lots of friends in the Caribbean and when we fall back they are one hour ahead of us.

Every year I send out a warning not to call me before 11am their time (which is 10am my time) otherwise I will block them. So far so good.

Where I am here in Ga, at 5:30pm it's very dark and it seems as if everyone is trying to get home at the same time. I just changed out my outside bulbs to dusk to dawn and by 5:15pm they come on.

Why I love Standard Time.

Less Sun while I'm awake = less Heat.

Less Sun while I'm awake = a more cozy  ambience feeling in our home

Less Sun while I'm awake = cool weather clothing in Rich jeweled tones and dramatic makeup

I wish less sun meant mountains of snow but unfortunately it just simply means milder temperatures.

Re: Why I hate Daylight Savings time

I wish we would stay at DST.   I get up at 4 for work which I usually wake up about 10-15 minutes before my alarm goes off and this week I've woken up at 2:45.   Not a fan of standard time.

Re: Why I hate Daylight Savings time

I've never heard of a reasonable answer as to why we keep doing this ******. The voters out here voted to end this twice a year stupid ritual but noting has been done about it.
