Went to hear an Elvis impersonator during a recent trip to Vegas. The whole audience sang along whether they were 22 or 82. The impersonator was quite good - although his voice wasn't as sweet as Elvis' often was.

You lucky girl! I wish I could hear a good impersonator in person!

I too was in love with Elvis all my teen years & I told my mom that I was going to marry him. He broke my heart when he married Prisilla.

I grew up hearing his music. I was 6 years old when my grandmother died but learned to love Elvis through her. She always said he was a good boy who loved his mama.

Sadly, I don't think anyone could have helped Elvis. Has nothing to do with anyone loving him or how much they loved him. Has everything to do with Elvis being Elvis and doing what he wanted to do regardless of anything else.

Last night i was checking the website of the National Archives. And low and below there was a copy of the 5 page letter that Elvis sent Pres. Reagan. It was hard to read, but for those of you curious, go check it out.... There is also a lot of other extremely interesting stuff there.

My parents saw Elvis perform in Vegas in '71, and my mother was lucky enough to grab a teddy bear! Elvis used to toss them to the audience when he sang that song. As I child, I wondered why I wasn't allowed to play with it!

I was only 9 years old when his record Heartbreak Hotel came out. My sister who was 15 loved him. Me not so much.
