The Republican speaker of the Texas House of Representatives was handily elected to a second term despite oppisition from "tea party" groups. He survived an unprecedented outside barrage of tv ads and chatter among conservative groups that argued Joe Straus who is considered moderate and is Jewish wasn't the type of "true Christian conservative" who should hold the position.
I am Jewish and so is the Tucson lady that was shot but Democrats.
