Re: Who will be baking cookies?

If I do holiday baking (haven't decided yet), it's more likely to be homemade cinnamon rolls than cookies. I like to give those out to people and then freeze individually to eat for the next few months!

No cookie baking here.   I ordered Junior’s mini cheesecakes for our Christmas dessert this year.   I do not fill our house with candy and sweets for the holidays.

Re: Who will be baking cookies?

I make Thanksgiving and Christmas cookies. My late mother and aunt, who also lived with us, always made some to share with friends and give as gifts. I remember helping them make cookies when I was a child and giving them to my teachers who looked forward to them every year.

When my my mom and aunt got too old to make cookies they gave me their recipes. They enjoyed getting cookies made by me. I have carried on their tradition ever since and share cookies with friends and family.  I start cookies a week before the holiday. The holidays wouldn't be the same without some homemade cookies. It is a special reminder to me of my mom and aunt.

Thank you ALL for the replies I hope you have fun baking and or eating the goodies. I am not a year round baked goods person but I like the cookies. I send them to my daughters family and my son and his fiance' DH and I do keep some, but not a lot because my MIL will send a tray of cookies home w us on Christmas too. lol. Oh and PS I think I am going to try to make canoli too for Christmas Eve this year. I have never made them before (and I should have I guess being I am 1/2 Italian! lol).

Re: Who will be baking cookies?

DH just made 72 sugar cookies and a batch of fudge.  Wiskey balls are next.  Yep, it's officially the holiday.  LOL

Re: Who will be baking cookies?

Already made chocolate chip cookies when we decorated the tree the day after Thanksgiving.

Next weekend I will bake chocolate almond biscotti for me co-workers.

Re: Who will be baking cookies?

I rotate cookie baking - chocolate chip, oatmeal, peanut butter with a chocolate kiss on top, and my favorite for awhile has been the Heath Toffee Bits cookies - they are yummy and stay chewy and moist unless the last one has dissapeared (which is not very long with this particular cookie in this house! 😉).

The grandkids and I usually always make a batch of chocolate chip around Christmas every year. (Those seem to be the cookie of choice for most kids I know).

I’ll be baking 3 kinds of cookies this year: shortbread for DH, chocolate chip for DS and peanut butter for myself.

Re: Who will be baking cookies?

My neighbor.  I'm a good cook but couldn't bake a cookie to save my life.  I envy people who have baking talent.  Plus her house is spotless, her prices are reasonable and the cookies are delicious and look like mini works of art..
