Who should pay for the car repairs?

My exhusband has given our son his old Nissan that he'd paid off. Our son lives with me, so the car stays at my house. On the first day of taking my son to school, the front passanger side tire blew out. The tires looked worn when he delivered the car to my house.

My question is, am I responsible for getting the car tires replaced or is my exhusband? I know he gave our son the car, but it's still in his name.

I know that my exhusband paid off the car and gave it to our son and I fully expect to pay for and be responsible for all oil changes and car check ups.
