How about not putting categories on any of them-- just enjoy people as individuals--

I'll stand by my white-haired protoge, the versatile Mr. Hewitt. One man's (or woman's) "pompous" is another man's "cerebral"....
Hilarious Greg Gutfield, huh? 😄

Why not give the job to Rachel Meadow who already works at NBC ?

Now, now, let's not diaparage each other's picks. Kind of takes the fun out of responding spontaneously to smb3's pleasantly speculative thread....

whoever gets the job I sure hope their salary is less bloated than Matt Lauers. I was sickened to learn he made $25 million a year. A family friend was a producer in news at a local TV station and only made $40,000.

I think they should rotate news people, celebrities, etc. Then, after several months, one will 'shine'. That's what I would do if I were in charge. Keep in mind that I don't watch any of the panel format early morning news. I begin watching the various talk shows immediately after the early morning panel type news. I 'switch around', depending on what interests me at that time. .......... Just thinking out loud right now..........Do they really need a replacement? I'll have to watch tomorrow morning, just to 'see what's cooking'.

Willie Geist definitely. Ann Curry? No, she is too cloying. She is gone for a good reason.
