Total eclipse phase right now here in downstate Illinois.  The sky is beautiful!

Orion is in full view too.

Me!!!!  Stunningly clear outside with stars bright.  Very frustrating though street light is right where the moon is, grrrr and steals the show.

Up at 4:30 a.m. and my local news station had great pictures.

Sadly, I could just see the light through the trees since we are in the woods.

Still, amazing and almost mystical.  The mysteries of the Universe are unmatched!

Yes!  Very mystical, and so fleeting.  I am watching the NASA live stream too.

Had a perfect view from my master bath window.   AMAZING.

Very lucky here in upstate ny today.  Clear skies.  Set the alarm for 3am, went out for my hour walk and about 4am I could see it just starting.  Watched until it became to light to see and now has set in my area.  

@4kitties I watch the movement of Orion through the sky all year when visible.

My husband and I were up at 3:30 this morning. Beautiful viewing sky.  Lots of stars out too.

You are truly an early bird!  I love to do my walk early morning too, about 5:30 in the summer.  I wait until later morning now as I do not like to walk in the dark.  One of our streets is very narrow and I need a good view to be able to get off the road when a car comes by.
