@jackiejenny

I loved listening to Elvis sing gospel music.  Mama and Daddy had all of his albums and on Sunday morning when we were getting dressed for church, Mama would put on his music.  Other gospel singers, too; Elvis was just one.

Truth be told, I was born too late and was a product of the British Invasion.  However, in 1972, I came to appreciate Elvis Presley because of this smash single:

Burning Love was written by Arthur Alexander and originally performed by Arthur Alexander. Elvis ...

Have admired him ever since.

Re: Who is Better Looking?

My vote is for Jon Hamm.

I was a huge fan of  Mad Men.

Elvis was before my time, so perhaps that's why he is just okay to me. I tell you though another man that was before my time but I found him very handsome was Paul Newman.

@QFashion   I liked Dean Martin too and he wasn't too shabby in the looks and vocal department either.

I would still pick Elvis by a mile, but I love this story about Dean and Elvis.

When Dean's song" Everybody Loves Somebody" shot to number 1 in 1964, knocking  the Beatles "A Hard Days Night" out of that slot, Dean sent Elvis a telegram.

It read: If you can't handle the Beatles, I'll do it for you, pally.

Dean knew Elvis would take it in the good natured way it was intended. Later on, Dean was attending an Elvis show in Vegas in 1970.

Elvis knew Dean was in the audience and sang "Everybody Loves Somebody" to get a rise out of Dean.

It worked....Dean loved it!
