I buy little gifts when I travel, and have been to Scotland and Washington DC this year. My family is large, and I usually have accumulated more by this time.
These are just remembrances, though, little gifts related to the recipient's interests, for the most part. If all works out, I will be in Japan in Nov, and will look around for gifties there.

I bought one so far. We have cut way back. No kids, grandkids. Just a few friends, dad, sister, BIL. Token items, not much at all. SO and I do not exchange, or something very minimal. My hairdresser gets cash.
We do share some food items near holiday time with family. I mail the friend gifts first week of December. We like stress free holidays, and we don't need more stuff. Family, we do a special dinner out, or an event together. It works for us.
@september I'm sorry for your loss of your mom. Our lives change so much without them.
@KailaS Prayers for you, your mom and sister. Thinking of you.

When I had mentioned earlier in the thread that I had started shopping, it wasn't like a conscious "let's get started on that shopping" decision.
I just ran across things I liked and was pretty sure the recipients would like and so I bought them.
Not trying to rush the seasons or trying to have Christmas and winter get here faster (not a fan of winter). It's just sometimes you find the right gift and no way would I say, nope, it's July, not buying till after Thanksgiving. I think that is silly.

Not me. I'll probably start in December.

I avoid Christmas as long as possible. I buy for 3 young grandkids and ship them around Thanksgiving and don't think about Christmas until Christmas Eve Mass. My family stopped drawing names 5 years ago.

I just started mine - ordered multiples of the Limitless Power Bank TSV

I start as soon as my granddaughter's birthday party is over each year the last weekend in August. Decades ago when her Dad was a little boy I had it all done by Labor Day. Only Christmas cards and cooking needed to be done when the holidays actually came.
