Re: Who else loves to wrap gifts?

I really enjoy wrapping most of the time. My problem is that I let the pile of purchases build up and I'd have to set aside a day or two for the wrapping (was worse when our kids were small and there were more packages). I'm fussy about the paper and the ribbon I use. Now that there are fewer packages, I use the nice wire-edged ribbon and really put some effort into it. They do make a pretty sight under the tree.

Re: Who else loves to wrap gifts?

I love to wrap! I am kicking myself though. I saw both turquoise and lime green paper with white polka dots and thought this paper would look good with big hot pink or orange ribbons. (Why yes thank you. I do march to my owner drummer--no Santa Claus or Merry Christmas wrapping paper for me. LOL) I don't know why I didn't purchase at the time.

The problem now is I can visually see this paper in the store and even remember it was $7.99 a roll, but I cannot remember WHERE I saw it! {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Re: Who else loves to wrap gifts?

Yes, I am a wrapper. I started this weekend and have almost 40 wrapped. They do not have bows or ribbons yet. That is an entirely different process.

My tip for wrappers is to start your wrapping with a twelve hour Alleve and follow with Extra Strength Tylenol as needed. It helps. Take it or leave it! Smiley Happy)

I have enough paper for a few years but every year I purchase more. It's my dirty little secret. And bows and ribbon and name tags. But it makes me happy and keeps me off of the streets. Now the family expects every single package to be wrapped in different paper. I love The Container Store and Target has cute paper this year too.

Fortunately my hoarding is limited to Christmas wrap and is in fact organizer and contained. So no tv show for me.

Re: Who else loves to wrap gifts?

LOVE to wrap gifts! It's the one place you can work with colors and textures and not be over run, as in with crafts!

I love paper from Halmark and I also order really nice paper from Current. They often have matching tissue paper and occasionally I'll get that. I also like to get paper at Target. My house is country primitives, so I tend to a lot of old world, ornament, snowmen, and scene paper. I tie the big designer bows and often use mini decorative wire when I can find it. I have a shopping bag of ribbon! Plain red or green are always so hard to find! I sit on the floor next to the tree with a kahlua and cream, the dog is snoring, and I can wrap for hours-or until the kahlua runs out!

Re: Who else loves to wrap gifts?

I buy my paper at yard sales in the summer,no bows or ribbon, just write to:/from: right on the package, not a fan of wrapping at all.

Re: Who else loves to wrap gifts?

I don't mind doing it, but don't love it either. As long as the gift is in a box or something wrappable. I don't like dealing with odd-shaped things which are hard to wrap. I've ordered some Laura Burch pillows as gifts, and I imagine they come without boxes. We do have a box store here, so maybe I'll get boxes. Or bags would work, but that seems like cheating, doesn't it?

Gift bags with festive, colored tissue paper artfully fluffed into the top. That's how I wrap, and I love it! Haven't bought wrapping paper or ribbon in years.

Me! Me! Me! I love gift wrapping. I always have. At one time, I was the official gift wrapper for my family. Everyone asked me to wraps their presents. Wrapping presents and decorating cookies are the best part of Christmas.

Re: Who else loves to wrap gifts?

i love to do it,too but there is no way i could make a living at it. it is fine for a while but when i don't want to do it anymore - i won't! my hall closet has a collection of different rolls because i don't like to use the same paper every year. but i also have a stack of bags in different sizes for things in an odd package that would be hard to wrap.
