Who Should Have The Baby Shower

for a pregnant woman? Is it proper for the woman's family? I was very upset today. My daughter is pregnant and her boyfriend's mother called to tell me she has the whole thing planned. I was planning to have the shower and her sister and some of her friends were looking forward to helping me. What is proper etiquette?
