Our's is in a plastic bowel too.  We've always stored batteries there.  I see no difference longevity other then the brand (we only get Duracell)

@CherryHugs

On a shelf in a closet.  I have zip lock bags labeled with a size for each type of battery (AAA, AA, A , C, D, 9volt, etc.).  Living in hurricane county, we buy batteries in large packs and I put the packs into the zip lock bags.  We take batteries out of each pack as needed and re-close the baggie.

We use a battery storage case from Amazon ( store in a closet). One of the very best things we ever ordered from Amazon ( out of several thousand items at least).

Re: Where do you store batteries?

            I always used to keep them in an old shoe box.  But
bought the battery container from QVC.  And they keep well.  But I wish there was more room for C and D batteries.  I still have lots of candles that use that size!

I have this from the Container Store.  I keep it in the utility closet.

Re: Where do you store batteries?

@CherryHugs  Probably 30 years ago, DH saw an ad in the Sunday magazine section for battery storage that could be affixed to the wall.  We bought two of them and still use them.  I have also added two more from the Q, since we get our batteries either from Costco or BJ's and those packs are so large.  Having them on the wall saves a lot of drawer space.

Re: Where do you store batteries?

@CherryHugs    as long as they are in packages in the container it is fine... you do not want a bunch of loose batteries thrown together as there is a CHANCE OF having a fire or the like... probably not real concerning that it would happen... but it COULD HAPPEN.

 You could also put tape over the ends of the loose batteries if you want to keep them loose together... it just adds a  bit of protection from them ever having a reaction being together.

@SeaMaiden -yeah, I would never keep them together loose either, for the reason you mentioned.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
