Re: Where did dishwasher detergent go?

[ Edited ]

In a similar shortage of dishwasher pods, I tried the Publix (FL) , cheaper than the national brands and (for my water, and anemic dish washer)  really effective and good.

For the OP it could be supply chain issues--lots of these in S FL.

@Trailrun23 Haven't  used it in years. I buy the tubs of pods at Costco.

Re: Where did dishwasher detergent go?

@Trailrun23 That is why I have changed my shopping habits in the last few years. I always make sure that I have a supply of items that I use frequently.

I have about 1/4 of a box of dishwasher tabs, so I bought another container at Sam's. The new container has 117 tabs.

After seeing empty shelves of pasta, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. I try and keep one step ahead. I don't know what item will have the next panic.

Re: Where did dishwasher detergent go?

@Trailrun23   No shortage here in DC at Safeway of pods or Dawn liquid.  Where are you located?   If you can't find any locally, try ordering online from Walmart or Amazon.

The office supply chain--Staples--carries the pods and liquid.

Lasts Thursday I joined my  daughter in a Costco run to Alexandria, VA and no shortage there, either.

@drizzellla   I also try to keep a step ahead with basic items, too, since the Covid pandemic.  Never want to be in a frantic search for an item again.  My greatest sweat was over toilet paper--now I am ALWAYS well stocked with my Scott tissue!

Re: Where did dishwasher detergent go?

I keep mine under the kitchen sink.  It's still there.  You asked 3 or 4 store managers and none of them answered your question so I think you just weren't looking in the right aisles.

Re: Where did dishwasher detergent go?

No shortage where I am either(North East). There were shelves full at our grocery stores. BJ's and Costco had them also.

I just went to Target. There is a whole aisle full of all types of dishwasher liquid.

No shortage that I am aware of, but I purchase items like that from Costco, so I  always have an abundance of items. I purchase well before I run low or out.

Like others have stated, I like to keep well supplied since COVID.

I buy Cascade in the big tub from Costco. I tried the Costco brand and it was awful. We have very hard water and it just didn't dissolve but partially in the water; tried it over and over. Cascade complete works but not Cascade platinum...the heat index here is 112 degrees....not going out and will hand wash for now. And I have lots of paper plates! I try to have one tub open and one unopened one that sits under the open one under the sink...I never, ever, run out...but gave DD my tub and only had a partial tub left. I always am stocked up on paper products and detergents and laundry stuff.

No shortage in Colorado either.  Hope you find some soon.
