@rockygems123 Oh be still my heart! I actually got chills when I saw your picture. It just feels comforting and cozy to look at the mountains. How ironic I find myself in one of the flattest states in the Country.

When we moved here from the Bay Area SF suburbs almost 30 years ago my friends were so worried that I might be missing the ocean which you didnt see daily.
I told them it was great going to regular errands and seeing miles and miles of the Rocky Mountains.
Never get tired of it and am grateful every day![]()

Growing up in the SF Bay Area if there was a choice to go over to the coast or the mountains I'd pick the mountains.
So grateful to have found my way "home".
You are invited anytime!

Sometimes we have to do the practical thing because it is the lesser of two not perfect solutions.
I cannot imagine what the results would be if that tree blew down.
Maybe you can plant something else in that spot which would bring you pleasure, a smaller, more suitable tree perhaps.
Take some pictures before it comes down so at least you will have that.

Condo for winters in Naples where I-75 makes the turn to Alligator Alley. After Hurricane Irma, the year-round residents said that there was so much tree damage in the resort that 24/7 for a week there was the non-stop sawing of trees. Then only sawing when a tree had to be removed. One such tree was outside our condo and its roots were spreading close to the surface and lifting the garage door. It also was starting on the condo below us. Wrong type tree had been planted.
Back at home, we lost the seven 40-foot Colorado blue spruces that lined the front of our property: Construction company took them down to widen the road. This despite the builder of the development opposite us had provided space on his side of the road.
I still see them in my mind and remember how magnificent they were with and without snow !

PHOENIX now has 2 "seasons"... Tourist season, and CONSTRUCTION season, and they've started to overlap. di
We basically have 2 seasons also with a slight overlap: Hurricane season & snowbird season.
