I live in suburban NYC and kids here have already had two weeks off at Christmas, a week off in February and they will have another week and a day in the Middle of April for Easter/ Passover.
Wow when I was I was in school back in the "dark" ages we had Christmas and Easter breaks
What it is like in your area.

For Public schools..... Spring Break started last Monday and goes through this coming Monday.
For Catholic schools... It starts next month on Holy Thursday and ends on the Monday after Easter.
This is for both Miami and Fort Lauderdale area schools.

Suburbs of Atlanta, GA. The kids are out April 7th through April 11th. Which does not coincide with Easter.

I also have been surprised. I live in a rental community and have two boys on one side and two boys and a toddler on the other side. I have not lived around children for a while until the last three years. Besides never having homework-- even in 6th and 7th grades-- the children are out of school for the summer after the second week of May. They go back to school in the third week of August. I really am out of the loop.

Here in Tacoma, WA - Spring Break is April 7-11. No week off in Feb for us, but we did have a 4-day Presidents Day Break...Other area districts had a week off in Feb for "mid-Winter Break".

Interesting question. I am in California and each school district is a little different. My youngest grand is in college Fresno, and they are out april 12-20. And then Out of school May 7. They start back mid August. Here where I live the school district has a week before Easter only 5 days. Maybe colleges get longer, as they don't get many small holidays or school teacher early days

My 9 yo grandson is currently on Spring break here in the St. Louis area. He returns to school on Monday. He spent a couple of days with me and we went to his favorite resturant Applebees. ![]()

I don't know the exact dates because the schools around the Phoenix area seem to rotate weeks. I don't have kids so I don't pay attention . Mesa might have the first week of March, Scottsdale the second week and my area Peoria had last week off I think because traffic was better. They also get almost every Wednesday a half day and they're coming home around 11:00. Back in the dark ages all we got was Thanksgiving for 2 days, Christmas and Easter plus a few scattered days for PTA conferences.

No "kids" in my neighborhood. Mostly retirees, and younger working couples...
