I read that he's still in the hospital AND they cannot get in touch with his parents... strange.

According to some doctors, it's possible to survive what he did. There are even shoe prints on the wheel well. Apparently he had no idea where he was going. He was just trying to get to his mother in Somalia. Having raised teenagers and having counseled thousands of them professionally, I know that their minds are not fully formed. It's entirely possible that this kid did what he is alleged to have done. My main concern is that security was clearly lax at the airport. Heaven knows what evil could have been done by those with nefarious motives.

Have not read this story but it explains my friends Fb.
He is a pilot and took a pic of his wheel well yesterday with the caption ""no stowaways here"".
NOW I ""get"" it...

I hope the boy recovers and gets to see his mother.

In the first sentence of the news story, it said he climbed a "deteriorating fence" at the airport.
I think is is linked to our deteriorating infrastructure as much as anything else.

He knew exactly what he was doing.

I agree with Noel about Israeli type security. However, I doubt it would be allowed in our country because they do "profile" and do other things that wouldn't jive with our system of government?
He was taken to a hospital and kept overnight. He was very lucky.
If you do not believe the story, how do you think he ended up in Hawaii? News reports said he is security jumping the fence. He arrived in Hawaii and was found to be in poor condition.
Well, since you quoted me, I'll reply. I don't have the slightest idea how he got there.
I quoted you as I was responding to your first sentence about he did not need medical attention.
