I could do it! Since we lost our home and all our possessions in 1993, I hold on to things very loosely. It was an awakening moment for me.

I'd laugh at them and say "no way."
Friends of ours who were moving into a home with a family member got an offer like this. They sold their home 100% furnished... Linens and dishes included. They weren't planning on this, but took the offer anyway.
After about 2 years, they found themselves homeless due to a death in the family and had to buy a home and completely furnish it from scratch.
I guess if you were downsizing, or selling a house that was part of an estate, this could be a great solution.

at the beach areas in delmarva MANY people sell their homes fully furnished. most of them tend to be vacation homes or rental homes and people either dont have the space or dont want to remove their belongings.

Oh how I would love that! I might even offer to pay them to keep my stuff. Well, not really.
But, I do know that with my desire to downsize I have way too much furniture and the size of many of my pieces are just too big to fit comfortably in a small condo or apartment.
I once worked with a woman who upon becoming an empty nester, she and her husband bought a brand new condo downtown. They purchased a piece of art that was the starting point for decorating the entire condo. They truly got rid of everything (including the silverware) and completely started over furnishing and decorating. I always thought that was so cool and now I find myself wanting to do the same.

Oh that would be a dream come true for me! We just moved into our summer home full time. Therefore I had two households. When I sold my home 3 months ago i needed to get rid of just about everything! Furniture, pictures on the walls, everything. My summer home, which is brand new was fully furnished. Thank goodness my son, who just bought a house, wanted just about everything we had. I just took my personal items when we moved, that's it! ![]()

Whenever I have sold my house, I have removed all things that I want to keep or listed them as not included in the sale in the description, so if they said that to me, I'd say SOLD, grab my money and happily move on.

I would look at my real estate agent and say, put the house back on the market. I'm not leaving without my stuff.

They told you they want to buy your home and everything inside the home. They would pay you extra for your trouble. They told you to get your personal items and clothes and leave.
No packing, no moving furnature, no hard work would you have to deal with.
What would you do?
i hate moving, so as long as i could take anything that had any sentimental value, I'd go for it.
