Re: What would you do with left over craft items?

Call a nursing home or senior citizen center and ask if they have an arts program and ask if they want those items.  Better yet, if you know any little girls, you found a home for your stickers.  Little girls love stickers!

Isn't it funny how scrapbboking was so popular several years ago  and now you don't hear much about it though there are still people into it.  I also have quite a large scrapbooking supply stash which I will use occasionally and have thought about either donating or trying to sell online as large lots.

Google Annie Sloan Inspiration.  Or the website and look under the inspiration tab.  Tells you what colors to mix to achieve other colors.  Gives you great ideas.  It's fun and easy to do.

No sanding.

It adheres to metal (elaborate drawer pulls).

Using two or three different colors on raised carvings turns out so nice.

But even a plain, (clean lines) table can be done in an elegant color or something bright or quirky.

I sold mine in a garage sale years ago. Arthritis helped in the decision.

Re: What would you do with left over craft items?

I just went though this dilema and mostly, I recycled what I could and threw out the rest. Crafts are like fashion, what was in and popular one year is not the next. Spent alot on crafts during QVC heyday of crafts and didn't use them. Still have a few things that if I don't do something with in a year, they will be gone as well.

My senior center is very fussy.  I had items turned down especially silk flowers items, decor, anything glittered.  And Salvation Army just trashed it as unsaleable.

Re: What would you do with left over craft items?

Elementary schools. after school programs, Boys and Girls clubs, school art teachers would welcome supplies as long as they arent dried out, mangled and have enough for at least 20-30 kiddos to make/decorate a craft, even for older kiddos.

They love making cards, esp. w/holidays.

My students would design and craft cards for Catholic Ministiries for prisoners.

I only had to remind the kiddos to keep the message positive, Christmas or holiday (new year, etc) oriented, and they were only to write their 1st names (for security purposes, which we did for everything being sent into the community).

I would donate it to the Goodwill.  I am taking a bunch of yarn that was not used there today.

Re: What would you do with left over craft items?

I take mine to a local charity thrift shop. I do make sure things are still useable and not dried out, etc. I asked them if these type items sell and they said "yes". I don't scrapbook anymore because no descendants who would be interested in inheriting them and too much work and $ involved to just do it for myself. I am going to make a small book for my sisters 65th birthday but am planning to purchase the book on Etsy then I'll just add the photos and journaling.
