Yep, started as a jade plant - grew into a jade tree.

And I agree, Lisa is nearing 50 so her audience would be of that generation or older. Doubt that many 22 years old are scanning her pages.

Totally not my interpretation at all. On the contrary, I take it to mean that, although he was a well known and busy designer, he still took the time to make dresses for Lisa/QVC well before Lisa was the "star" she is now. He made dresses for her even though nobody cared or asked who she was wearing.
