I basically walk all day, up and down stairs about six or more times, up and down my long steep driveway at least four times a day, pulling open two wrought iron gates for delivery people to enter, landscape my gardens, digging up rocks and carrying them in a wheelbarrow to where I want them, digging holes with a shovel to dig up or plant, weed my property which takes most of the year of day in and day out, plant and tend a vegetable garden, divide and replant plants, pot others, carry pots to new spots, take care of two terrors, I mean terriers, lol, and sometimes, I walk around my circular driveway over and over until I feel worked out,.well, you get the picture. 

 

I also take care of the house when I feel like it, lol, no outside help.  Let's say I keep moving and busy.

@Mz iMac, I'm skinny, too, but just in case you were serious here, exercise is so important for all parts of your body.

 

And don't tell anyone, but exercise doesn't affect weight as much as people would like to think. Most of us don't burn that many calories in our exercise routine.


@suzyQ3  Weight training to build and maintain muscle mass is most important as we get older. I tried to keep my Mom (who’s 90) going to her assisted living seated weight classes, but she quit years ago. Now that she requires a walker, she can’t manage to get off the sofa to get to it or has the strength to pull herself up with it. Yes, she’s 90, but her same age friends who kept up these 3 x weekly exercises are still walking unassisted. 

 

For those of us 20 yrs. younger, muscle burns calories.

I walk so I will be able to move since I am 80 now. I have to get my clothes off my stationary bike and use it again. Lazy.

I use a recumbent bike or elliptical plus my Pilates Chair.

Got a Fitbit for Christmas & finally started using it on the 20th.

It shows I'm walking 4-5 miles per day. That's from cleaning, cooking, exercising & just walking fast thru the house while I listen to music. I walk at least 3000 steps before I eat breakfast to get started.

When we built our cottage 3 years ago I included an exercise room. In it I have a treadmill and elliptical machine. I watch tv while exercising daily. During the summer months I power walk outdoors. Woman Happy

I hate gyms so I don't go often.  I walk outside or inside on my treadmill.  I bought a decent treadmills--PreCor as my sister bought a cheaper one and never uses it.  I use mine often.  

 

I also go to yoga.  I try to go 3 times a week--sometimes only get there twice a week.
