What traditions does your community do for New Year's Eve?

Here where I live my town has a sister city of Letterkenny, Ireland, so our New Year's celebrations occur at 7 pm, when it is 12 midnight in Ireland. There is a Mars chocolate factory here so at 7 pm (midnight in Ireland) we drop a giant M &M! Other local communities also have different things that drop or descend, A giant boloney in Lebanon, PA, a wrench in Mechanicsburg,PA, a ship's anchor in Shippensburg, PA and a giant dill pickle in Dillsburg, PA to name a few.
