She started taking voice lessons to help her get rid of her accent. I don't think she ever went very far with her voice lessons so she still has her accent.

Also, I had a roomie from Mobile, Alabama and she said "oil" and "on" weirdly....among other things.

I had a friend when I was a teenager whose mother (who was from Alabama) put an "r" on the end of my name.
