I'm pretty careful about what websites etc that I visit- and I have security measures in place although who knows- hackers are just so knowledgeable--- but for some reason I NEVER NOTICED that when I type in QVC's address- on ANY browser- there was a little exclamation point -- well today I NOTICED- and it says "DO not type in any passwords or personal info because this site is not safe. SO QVC- what do you have to say about that? Yeah- I had to type in my stuff to get here- so I hope all is well.

I have cable plugged to the wall.   NEVER use wi-fi.   My icons are set up to the "official sites" only.

@sippCan you be more specific about what you're seeing and where it is?  I just signed in after reading your post and didn't see any warnings.

Notice when paying your bill or ordering it shows locked.  This is just for information that security is not necessary for such as this forum or just casually brousing.

@PookI think you're right -  and I also think security is very similar on many of the sites I use.  Locked when my information needs to be protected, not for casual reading.  Still doesn't mean we're safe -  anywhere!

My SO who used to call in orders when he shopped online rather than doing so online had his credit card hacked several times so it  doesn't really matter if you use the phone or internet, your information is online wherever you shop anyway so nothing is really safe.  Since he's started to place orders online this has not happened.  At least online you have security from your company you have for internet security.  The places you shop can be hacked where your information is.  Even checks before the internet were intercepted from the mail for account information.  If you worried about it you'd never use a credit card or check anywhere and pay cash or cashier's check only and never shop anywhere where your info is stored.

@sipp  Yes, I've been getting that same warning on mine for a long time too.  Chrome says this site is not secure and it also says "this page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources."  For those who think that's normal, try loading the HSN website.  You won't get that warning there.......it has a green lock symbol instead of the exclamation point.

Why would the q have an unsecured web.I think they would want all of their shoppers to feel safe to shop and browseMaybe they have the web open for tracking the things shoppers are interested in.
