 I agree with others that companies are having to change their time loved food wares as some ingredients are not available or to difficult to find or are cutting corners because of food costs .

I don't remember ever drinking Mickey D coffee, or any other fast food brew. I have had Scooters and Starbucks when my wife seems to think I need one, I guess.

Every time I hear about Mickey D coffee! I remember the lady that sued them for a million $$. She burned her leg when she spilled it, and unless I am mistaken, she won. Think they lowered the temperature of their coffee after that lawsuit.

For me my Instant Folgers tastes better than any of the few I have had to drink. One thing for sure, it is a he!! of a lot cheaper.

My 2nd home, the hospital ran a close 2nd to my Folgers, until! They changed companies that supply their machines, and with that came, a different brand of coffee. While it it is still good, and free, it is not the same.

Once the virus hit you can't find anything to drink but bottled water. No tea/coffee/no nothing but H2o.

I 've always loved McD's coffee too - hate Starbucks.  I only get it occasionally as I like  my own Original Donut Shop brand.  Anyway I got McD's a few weeks ago and didn't notice a difference.

When I lived in NJ many years ago and was early for jury duty, I went into a McD for the first time ever and ordered a coffee.  It took one sip and I threw the balance out.  Undrinkable to me!  This was a very long time ago and maybe before their upgrade.  I rarely drink coffee out, but will occasionally get a DARK ROAST at Starbucks.  Their regular Pikes Place tastes like dish water to me.  Also undrinkable.
We order our dark roast beans online and grind them daily, so I'm very fussy about the coffee I drink.
So disappointing when something you love is no longer available or the quality reduced.

Re: What's up with McDonald's coffee?

In my town the McDonald's still makes a really good cup of coffee. I am not a Starbucks fan I call it Charbucks, burnt bitter beans! There are a few small coffee cafes here, but McD's beats them. In reality, I would die to have a Caribou Coffee near. But they are only located near the college campus in my state.

@hckynutjohn Do you live in a remote area? I find coffee and tea everywhere by me.

@Ladybug724

I should have been more specific. This is in the waiting areas in the hospital and doctors offices. There used to always be big machines with coffee or hot water to use for their tea bags.

Remote area? Some people believe we still use horse and buggies in our state! But it is more just riding horseback, without the buggy.  =^..^=

Nothing tastes the same to me either.  Rarely get fast food but spouse kept seeing commercial for Kentucky Fried Chicken and said let's get some for dinner.

It was bland and tasted terrible🤮.  Guess we can cross that off the list and btw McD has changed the coffee even that doesn't seem the same to me.   I'm a Wawa coffee drinker now.

@homedecor1 we can't drink Wawa coffee anymore, it gives both of us terrible heartburn.
