I'm somewhat of a news "junkie". I live in the metro-DC area and have WTOP on my radio in the car, and at home when I'm not watching TV. Listen to the latest news before nodding off at night, and radio on first thing in the morning.

I'm must be an old soul because when I was in high school I listened to the CBS Radio Mystery Theatre, Milt Rosenberg and Wally Phillips on WGN in Chicago. Also Chicago Eddie Schwartz. Our home was in central Wisconsin, but those super stations came in clear in the evening.

As a kid maybe 10 or so I can recall listening to the Metropolitan Opera on Saturday afternoon,

We have XM Satellite radio on in the car, tuned to the "50's On 5" program. The music helps me relax while DH drives.

I listen to radio much more than I watch TV - usually NPR, talk, sports, or jazz/classical. The beauty of it is that you can do other things while listening. In fact, I'd rather listen to most sports on radio than TV. Besides, there's little good on TV and I'm not the type to plop myself in front of one for an hour or more to watch something.

When I was a teen in Pittsburgh the radio station we all listened to was KQV. They played all the top 40 songs and had the crazy DJs.I recall Chuck Brinkman was the DJ in the evenings so we heard him the most. I didn't watch TV much as a teen - we only had one TV and my parents controlled what shows they wanted to watch. Instead I'd play my radio in my room, while I did my homework, or talked on the phone to my "best friend" or my boyfriend.
My parents didn't allow me to go out in the evenings on weekdays.I was allowed to have my boyfriend come over one evening a week only, and he had to go home at 9:30 because my parents were strict about going to bed at 10PM weekdays.

I grew up in central IL and WLS out of Chicago was the only cool station to listen to. I remember Larry Lujack and Clark Weber.
I had a tiny little transistor radio that I would hold up to my ear at night (when I was supposed to be asleep) to listen to all the great rock of the 60s and early 70s.

I don't listen to the radio at all. It's all commercials and I really enjoy listening to music. I use my iPod when I'm in the car.

My fondest memories of radio are from 'American Top 40' with Casey Kasem. I remember his Saturday morning show with all of my favorite songs back then. The #1 song was always preceded with the 'drum roll'. I loved how Kasem would give brief stories about the songs and performers. It was such a treat.

Growing up in NYC in the '50s and '60s listened to Murray the K on WMCA or Cousin Brucie on WABC. Now I listen to WFMT here in Chicago. Classical music. Have no idea of any of the current, popular music.
