Re: What's Your Favorite Eating Place

Any old fashioned diner is good to me. Love pancakes, biscuits and gravy, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, hot turkey sandwiches and real milkshakes.

Re: What's Your Favorite Eating Place

We don't go to restaurants very much anymore but we like BBQ places and steak houses. I love Italian food but the only places that make good sauce are in Vegas.

I'm craving a shrimp cocktail.

There is a restaurant in Monterey that I really love. It's $$$ but it's always been really good.

For a chain restaurant, I love California Pizza Kitchen. I wish there was one here but, alas, I'd have to drive at least two hours to get to the nearest one. My usual is a half size Chinese chicken salad, split a garlic chicken pizza (they're small), and two of their awesome Bloody Marys.

Is Rosine' s still in Monterey? CAKE. Smiley Happy

Cozy Inn...sounds like my kind of place . I love sliders. Smiley Happy

Then you would love this place Marien. I am not certain, but it might be the original "slider" even before WhiteCastle. The Cozy Inn started in 1922 (it's even older than my dad, lol). Same location in town, same small place with only a few barstools and barely enough room to stand and turn around. The burgers come with onions in them, your options are ketchup, mustard and pickles... don't ask for cheese. You can get chips and a soda. It's a local joke that anyone can tell when you've been to the "Cozy" because the aroma is distinct.

When my dad was in HS they used to go to the Cozy after football games and such, and there would be a line down the block. Several years ago they added a drive-thru window, but the real fun is going in and sitting down. People order them from all over the country, they freeze and ship them out. The place is plastered with articles and reviews, and it was even featured on a "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" episode with Guy Fieri. Lots of history in that place, if the walls could talk.

I LOVE places like this! Thanks for posting the link. If I ever make it that way, I'm going to try it. Smiley Happy

If you are ever going East/West or West/East on I-70 just stop off... it's worth the visit! (Just don't eat them in your car) LOL! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Ok! I'll remember. There are a couple restaurants here like that..great food,but you smell like it the rest of the day! Smiley Happy

We love Jason's deli for lunch (I love their salad bar) and PF Changs for Dinner (ginger chicken or shanghai shrimp). I also love Eddie Merlot's for ahi, but we don't go often as it's so expensive.

Win, I L-O-V-E Jason's for the salad bar!!!! Hubby always tells me my plate looks like I brought the whole garden back to the table with me. Lol! I put everything on it!! And their red pepper hummus is TDF! I was just talking to a coworker about it today and now I'm hungry for it. I'm going to make hubby take me this wknd. Smiley Wink Have a nice night!!

LOL My hubby says the SAME thing Future. I'm semi "addicted" to that place due to that salad bar. OMGosh the red and yellow peppers, artichoke hearts, etc. etc. etc. I could eat there DAILY, lol. We go at least twice a month for lunch and sometimes weekly. It's 5 minutes from my home. My hubby gets a corned beef or pastrami, and it's never anything but the salad bar for me! I wish they had more JD's around. We only have 2 in town. Hope all is well and have a great day.
