A few months ago, someone left a pallet, truck tire and a huge bin full of flooring tiles, empty bottles, and at least 15 pounds of broken glass at the top of our driveway. Somehow a lot of the flooring tiles ended up in the road, someone picked up the pallet, then the tire vanished only to return, it was picked up again and finally someone got the bin.
It was weird.

@Equuleus. I am having a bad day too....some bad news....
.. the heat does not help much. I hope tomorrow gets better for you. That person who threw the item in your trash is just a jerk. Lots of jerks in this world who love to ruin someone’s day☹️

its a felony charge if the material dumped is over a certain weight. It’s sickening to see piles of junk and old mattresses spoiling the desert and vacant property.
Makes me angry 😡.
@Azcowgirl Your post reminded me of one time at my job. We had containers out back...one for garbage , one for recycling. People threw their garbage in both of them all the time....car parts, paint, oil.... filled them up.
One morning we were pulling out garbage from the recycle containers that some jerk put in them overnight. He had put junk mail with is name and address in with all the bags of junk. We called the police and turned him in.... they contacted him. They told him to go get the garbage or face arrest.....
So, we got to watch the jerk come and get all the garbage he dumped in the containers..with a police escort. We smirked as he pulled it out and filed his car with the smelly stuff.
He probably he did not learn a lesson...he just got Caught!
We locked the containers after that.

i too have found odd things in the containers when i set them out at curb.
One year, my trash was picked up totally gone from my trash cans (2 of them that were full) on the day before trash is picked up. Who took our trash is beyond me or why was my trash taken and no one else’s. Have a feeling people were looking for paperwork for stealing names and checks and so forth. I shred everything, into cross cuts, so it is useless.
One year I went out to put trash in my can and it was totally filled up with dirt. I didn’t do it, couldn’t figure out what was going on. Both cans were full of dirt. Finally i found the culprit. The neighbor next to me, didn’t want to use his cans, he took mine and filled them with dirt from his digging up old bushes he wanted removed. I told him never to touch our property again. I moved our trash cans to front of house after that.
This is the neighbor that went nutty batty coocoo clock off the wall. Police had to come out and subdue him he was walking around our street brandishing a handgun threatening everyone he was going to kill them. Police took him away never saw him again.

People are unbelievable sometimes, aren't they?
I think I'd be as upset with the garbage/recycling collection company.
They would be getting a call and complaint from me. I'm assuming this is a service you pay for, and their response was unprofessional and uncalled for. They should have emptied your containers, and left the extinguisher right next to them.
I'd report them in a heartbeat.

oh yes,
I forgot we have a huge evergreen on the side of our house that sits next to the main road, lots of people walking and driving by.
we get all kinds of junk in that tree, food.
we have found pizza, beer bottles. Ice cream containers. Not the kind you get ice cream in, the kind that you get from the local ice cream man truck and when they can’t eat anymore, they dump the stuff in the tree.
have found so much junk in that tree.

Agree that the garbage thing was uncalled for. However if someone owns a generator and used it during a power outage, you have no right to complain.

The city has ordinance against having boats and RV’s in view of street, probably because this area is not particularly close to lakes, etc. The ordinance is meant to keep driveways for cars.

If it’s your property, your driveway, and you park your boat there, instead of your car, I still don’t see the problem?
Is the neighbor parking vehicles on the street, instead and causing congestion?
