@Bird mama wrote:I had dinner at my sister's house and didn't really want to bring anything home. Of course, I got the unopened cheesecake nobody wanted (WHAT?), some bread stuffing and the new container of the cranberry stuff with pineapple and walnuts.
My other sister brought freshly made yams, kraut, what must be a half a loaf of bread and two bowls of her butter bean dish. Oh geez, and there were the devilled eggs.
I ate the devilled eggs for breakfast, lol. I had some kraut and beans for lunch/supper.
Tomorrow will be yams and beans. I will be eating kraut and beans for a week. Lucky for me I like kraut and beans, lol.
I didn't really want to bring anything home either. well....I have 4 large metal throw away containers in the fridge, a whole pumpkin roll, and when my husband got in my car today he said, you have a pumpkin pie on the back seat. oy

Just tonight we tried a version of the stuffing waffle sandwich that's been traveling around the net. Stuffing, an egg and chicken broth and a little gravy to make a "batter". Cook it in a well greased waffle iron and build your turkey sandwich with it! Crispy warm goodness! Fun and different, I will do it again!

My eldest sister, who hosted the dinner said, Bernie, you want some ....... and I said no. This went on for 5 mins and I could hear a whole lotta sighing. I eat when I am hungry and don't happen to have a robust appetite so my sisters (I'm the youngest) are always trying to get me to take food.
My middle sister cooked on Friday and came by and dropped off the eggs, bread, kraut and beans.
I'm not getting into a fight over food so I took it and put it in the fridge. I'll eat some of it but I don't know if I'll make it through all of it - could take a week, lol.

I totally understand. My sister tells me to take food, then she goes and looks to see how little I took and adds 3x more to it.

NoelSeven... Our sweet DD took my face in her hands when she was little and lovingly called me "fatsy face!" I will never forget laughing through tears! This was due to a round of steroids.
So glad your meal was perfectly luscious and it sounds like I'm even more glad that they patched you up so you would be OK to come home, thanks to the steroids💙❤️💜😇

Cute story, LOL. I'm sure that was not easy, dealing with steroids when she was so little. I hope you're OK now, loves.

Last night we had the perfect opposite for having days of turkey dinner, Chinese dim sum.
Back to turkey today, and we only had a 12 to 14 lb bird. I'm looking forward to the green beans, no sauce but done just right with slivered almonds.
