I have become a Facebooker in order to keep up with family and friends. Now, I don't care who posts it, but if a post is offensive to me, I delete it. If I can delete the entity it came from from ever being on my page again, I do that. I told a family member to delete me from her friend group because she would send such offensive posts out. She also stopped calling me, but that's okay.

Too much to list that is why I'm no longer on it.

I use FB to keep up with family and friends all over the world. I am very careful about what I post (you should be willing to see it on the front page of your newspaper). I have used it to find very damaging info on my son's baby mama(of my Grandsons). She is a horrible person and we are not FB friends, but twice I have found and used postings on her FB against her in Family Court.

For me what seemed kind of nutty, during the time I had a Facebook account and before I finally deactivated it, was that I really was no more interested in what anybody else was doing every minute of the day than I figured anybody else could possibly be interested in what I was doing every minute of the day.
I guess I just found it silly - for me, anyway. I guess I probably don't have the need that a lot of others have to be CONSTANTLY connected to the world and everybody I know. In fact, quite the contrary in my case. Maybe it's just another manifestation of my horrid childhood - I don't know. But I'm ok when I'm not connected to anybody for hours or days.
Of course I don't begrudge others who enjoy it. I'm not like that - to say that I don't care for something so it shouldn't exist. But it just wasn't for me.

I used to hate, hate, hate Facebook. I grudgingly kept up with it because some friends and family wouldn't communicate otherwise. I've found the more I use it, the more I learn about ways to make it a better experience. I had forgotten about the "unfollow" option and will have to start using it.
What I don't like:
- "vaguebooking" - those posts from people who say something like "Struggling with a difficult decision . . . "
- "debbie downers" who NEVER have anything positive to say.
- pictures of ugly, gnarly spiders and sick or abused children or animals.
- posts that say something like: "Only people who really care about "X" will re-post".

Hi sfnative,
Not a thing interests me in FB. I guess my wife signed me up with an account, but I haven't a clue how to even get on it, and doubt I will ever try.
As I like to say: "to each their own".
Hope all is well with you and again thank you for your concern for my wife and myself. She is getting a bit better by the day.
Fact, might even take her to do some shopping later today.
Take Care,

Neither did I. Guess i'll have to blame my being "nuts" on something else.
