Re: What kind of fireworks watcher are you?

I can't see the point of watching them on TV.   They shoot them off a barge on the lake.  If I have grandchildren here who want to see them I will walk down there but otherwise I just pass.  They are illegal in the city I live in.

Re: What kind of fireworks watcher are you?

I love to go see professional fireworks but haven't in years because my husband goes to bed at 9 year round to get up at 4 for work.

When I used to go I would ooo and ahh at them. Anyway now I watch them on tv. lol.

Neighborhood people here shoot the illegal ones and I find that annoying and scary because this is a country development with houses and cars parked (of course) and they don't shoot them in the fields they shoot them in their yards. I called the cops last year when fireworks were hitting our deck, and it stopped one night and started again, so I don't bother to call anymore. I just pray no fires start!

Re: What kind of fireworks watcher are you?

I loved to watch professional fireworks but haven't gone to see any in years. The closest ones are 45 minutes away and DH goes to bed at 9 so I just watch them on TV lol

When I went I oood and awed watching.

The neighbors here in this country development put off illegal ones and they sound like bombs going off. In fact, I called the cops the other year because they don't shoot them in the fields, they shoot them in yards and some were hitting houses and some hit our deck and I was worried about a fire. It did no good to call the cops, it started up again the next night. So now if they go off here I just pray there is no fire.

Re: What kind of fireworks watcher are you?

The past few years have been relatively quiet in my NJ neighborhood, just a few small ones near and on the Fourth.  However, years ago, it was a war zone from mid-June through July, to the point where I had to go away for a day or two. July 4th still remains the holiday I hate the most.  Love watching the Macy's fireworks on TV.  For everyone who has suffered because of fireworks, you have my sympathy.

The question still remains:  Is there anywhere in the U.S. where one does not have to worry about fireworks, including in my NJ?

A safe summer to all, LadyAlice
