I agree. The kissing is silly. A quick greeting and introduction is all that is needed.

When Leah does it, I just cringe....it is this big wet sounding smooching sound that makes me want to hurl my Cheerios.

They have been doing the air kisses for years at hairdresser's I have gone to. In addition, in many boutiques where I buy clothing, the women hug each other as a greeting.

It is very common where I live and especially in Europe. Not pretentious in the least.

It is very ridiculous to make such a huge point of ""air kissing"" on the air when greeting each other since you can be sure they greeted each other off stage sometime earlier on in the day before the on-air presentation began.

Funny you should mention this because in the last week or so, I've noticed hosts shaking hands for the first time in ages. It's so not so awkward.
