We are finally meeting my sons future in laws at a semi fancy restaurant. (My children are from my first husband and he and his wife already met them and picked up the tab). I dont work due to my health, and I know my husband would pick up the tab but I feel bad because my son is not his son (we married when my kids were way grown). It sounds cheap, but thats just how I am since I dont work I feel bad. My husband has done so much for me and is the sole provider and now we are going to have all of this wedding stuff too. (I know Im weird maybe? lol)

HOWEVER- I also dont want my son to be stuck with the bill because he is saving and paying off his bills for his upcoming marriage, and I can bet his fiance will tell HIM to up the bill (because thats how she is..lol..). Then I will feel bad for my son! LOL

Anyway is there a proper way to do this? PS) When we go out at all with anyone we always pay our share and half the tip. We as in friends or family pay our/ their own share unless its a birthday, then we pick up the tab for the birthday person.

Note: Someone told me that it depends WHO set up the meeting. Well if this matters the meeting was suggested by all parties involved. My friend said throw in HALF the total bill and tip.

(Please be nice. I am probably making a big deal out of this.lol. Im kind of nervous to meet them and dont want to come off cheap OR improper). Thanks.
