A funny FB post from one of my brothers. And news from a lovely young niece that she has accepted a job with an organization working with inner-city teenagers.

I'm still smiling. Finally found a piece of furniture that goes with my master bedroom suite . . . I started buying it in 1992 and the subsidiary of the main company was discontinued as was my particular collection. I just didn't have the money or adequate time to get it back then. So only had bed, triple dresser, mirror, two bachelor chests, bed steps and the bed bench . . . with other items in the room too.

FINALLY after two years of looking on craigslist and even eBay but shipping was always too steep . . . and sight unseen made me nervous . . . one finally popped up Friday morning . . . emailed, then return email, phone contact made . . . time set to go look today . . . told her what time, that I'd call right before leaving home and when 5 minutes from her home . . . as it was across state lines and about 1 hr 15 min away . . . and took husband and son with me to help load it . . . AND we drove two vehicles . . . with my seats all laid down and son with back seats laid down . . . all the drawers in his little Escape and top section and bottom section in my Expedition . . . loaded, paid and home we came. FINALLY. After 20 something years. And 2 years searching frequently. Voila. My Link Taylor Heirloom Mahogany High Boy!

What was a very expensive piece back then, maybe 4K retail or thereabouts . . . for 800.00 bucks cash. Yippee!

Now to do a little shuffling around in here tomorrow. Still want to paint, add heavy/thick crown molding and hardwood floors.

I received a $10 gift card from the Country Door, haven't bought anything for a long time..such a great surprise..of course I HAD to spend it! Check out The Country Door..lots of pretty Fall stuff!

When I change the paper towel roll my Coco turns it into a game. I stand it up on the kitchen floor and she will run around it and bark then knock it down and run off with it.
