Everybody's menus sound delicious, thank you for sharing.  Since it's just me and i've changed my mind about 1,000 times since I started planning suffice to say I really have no idea what's going to land on the plate next week.

@Irshgrl31201 those compound butters sound absolutely delicious.  I think I will try my hand at one of those as I am pretty sure both turkey and rolls are going to end up on the menu . . . I hope.

@NoelSeven I'm glad your dinner is planned and you can get some rest.  I hope you are feeling better each day.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody and ENJOY!  Heart

Hi Irsh Smiley Happy

Spent most of last week in the ER -> hospital and am on recovery time.  Went back and forth on what to do and decided to order a complete and fully cooked (that Thanksgiving morning) Thanksgiving meal from an upscale vendor.  I was happy to see it has all of our favorites, so will just be buying champagne and little things like olives and watermelon pickles.

Hope you have a wonderful day with your family, that's most important to you and to me  Smiley Happy

Noel

So sorry to hear that you've been under the weather!

When my mom passed away, no one was in the mood to cook. She had always made Thanksgiving dinner. So we got the complete Wegmans feast, and I got a cheese plate from a local cheese store and desserts from our neighborhood bakery.

It was so delicious and so stress free we did that for a few years.

Best wishes...just make sure you get enough for leftovers!

I'm really tempted to make the hot crab dip recipe that's in the Food Network's Thanksigiving issue.  It looks so delicious.

We had hot crab dip at a little place in Savannah this summer.  It was wonderful.

I had crab dip in Savannah and I want to say it was at a restaurant called Lizzys (I think). OMG, to die for! The best I have ever had. I am sure there are lots of delicious crab dips there. Savannah is one of my favorite cities to eat!

I don't remember the name of the restaurant.  It's in this little area with cute shops, restaurants - it's a very historic and right on the water.  I remember walking down handmade steps and praying I didn't fall.  LOL

We love Savannah - such a charming place.  We drove in from Hilton Head - maybe a 40 minute drive.  It's so beautiful there.

I love hearing about Savannah, it sounds gorgeous! . . . I'm looking out the window at about six inches of wet snow and counting . . . tee hee!

eta:  please know I am not complaining about the snow, I think it looks gorgeous . . . Smiley Happy

What's on my Thanksgiving day menu?

Whatever the restaurant is serving.

Me too, @Plaid Pants2. I briefly considered a non-traditional menu but decided I should stick with the good stuff. I don't cook for one. Last year I bought ready made from WF and it cost me more than a very nice meal out and was just okay, so this year I'm going to enjoy the meal out.

@FUTURE if you wouldn't mind sharing your delicious corn dish recipe I would be more than happy to see it . . . Smiley Happy

@momtochloe, if it were my recipe, I would absolutely share it, but it's an old family recipe from a dear friend, and I've been sworn to secrecy!! I hate not sharing it, and I don't like not being able to share it, but I have to keep my promise. I'll look around and see if I can find something similar!!

Hey, @Irshgrl31201!! I'm hosting this year. We are doing ham & turkey, a sweet potato dish, a corn dish that is TDF, rolls, green bean casserole (homemade - not using anything canned, it's great!!), a fall inspired salad, baked or mashed potatoes (haven't decided yet!) and pies. And my mom is making another dessert of some variety.   I LOVE Brussels sprouts, but several coming over don't, so I'll make them for myself another time. Lol! Wednesday night we are doing Itlaian food. We aren't Italian, but like to do something different every year, and something that's different than our traditional meal the next day. Hope you have an awesome holiday, and enjoy your time with family and friends! Heart

YOur menu sounds great! I would love to hear more about the TDF corn dish and the fall inspired salad. If you are busy don't worry about, you can do it when all the Thanksgiving work dies down. We are either ordering sushi or Thai on Wednesday, but I know I won't be cooking that night. My daughter and her family usually sleep over on Wed so they can be here early to help on Thursday. Plus it is just fun to have her back in the house with my grandson and son in law. We usually play games or watch movies with whoever is staying with us from out of town. That is my fav part or Thanksgivng. You enjoy your time with family and friends Future!

Re: What is on your Thanksgiving menu?

My husband, father and I are going to Waffle House for lunch on Thanksgiving.....seriously. Then back to our house for pumpkin pie for my husband and dad and a Weight Watchers dessert for me.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
