Aren't all of us who do our hair and makeup phony?

I don't get why she's singled out. She seems nice, she's polite, she has fun while she sells and she does a good job.

I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I find those who trash her to be the ones with the problem.

I can only think of one thing that I wish she would curtail...is the self-tanner. Sometimes it's nice to see lighter skin in the winter months (this from a tanner and self tanner....I lay off during winter as it can look fake. It's good to lay off the chemicals for a bit too).

Other than that, I think she's a hoot...and stunningly gorgeous!

Don't they all gush over what they're selling? It seems to me they do, in one way or another.

They ALL fake-gush over every product they present, though. That's part of the game. They are there for one reason - to sell product. Of course they love every product they present. There is seldom pure honesty when it comes to sales.

Putting on make up and doing my hair doesn't make me a phony but it does make me feel put together and better about myself.

Years ago, when I first discovered shopping channels, there was a cute guy on HSN ( think it was HSN).

The guy who married one of the other sellers, does anyone remember him?

I was watching him one day when he was presenting jewelry, and after he showed an item, he looked into the camera and said something close to, "This is just junk. I can't believe we're selling this. I don't recommend it to anyone."

That was the only person I've ever seen on HSN or QVC who was honest.
